About Face Theatre advances LGBTQ+ equity through community building, education, and performance. Members of the Board of Directors are powerful ambassadors for the company’s mission and bring their experience, skills, and vision to support and sustain this important work.
We activate our mission through:
- Union-affiliated productions, touring shows and workshops, new play development, and community gatherings;
- Educational programming that includes workforce development and training for the next generation of LGBTQ+ leaders;
- Special events throughout the year that uplift our intersectional communities, honor our history, and dream a more just future.
Who can serve on the Board?
We seek members who are passionate about our mission and are motivated to serve. The Board meets 6 times a year and participates in special projects and campaigns in collaboration with the staff and consultants. We seek members who bring positivity along with professional skills, strong networks, and a readiness to help advance the organization’s goals in a meaningful way. We are dedicated to being an anti-racist organization and seek new members who will serve AFT’s mission in alignment with our values.
Skills of all kinds are welcomed (fundraising and development, HR, strategic planning, finance, marketing, special events, NFP/arts/education/youth sector experiences).
