About Face Theatre at The Den

The Den Theatre

Beginning in 2022, AFT’s producing home has been The Den Theatre in Wicker Park. Opened in 2014, The Den Theatre is home to more active performance and event space than any other building in the country. The Den bills itself as a center for entertainment and artistic expression, providing a warm and diverse environment where everyone feels welcome and empowered to gather, play, create and share.

The Haven Lounge at The Den Theatre serves drinks until 1 hour after the end of the final performance of the night. Please note: The Den Theatre box office and the Haven Lounge are cashless. Only credit cards and tap-to-pay options are accepted.

Get here by train:

The Den is an easy, ¼ mile walk from the Division station on the Blue Line.

Get here by bus:

A few steps north of the 56 Milwaukee Bus stop at Milwaukee & Paulina
About ¼ mile north of the 9 Ashland Bus stop at Milwaukee & Ashland
About ¼ mile north of the 70 Division Bus stop at Division & Ashland
About ½ mile south of the 50 Damen Bus stop at Damen & Milwaukee
About ½ mile south of the 72 North Ave Bus stop at North Ave & Milwaukee

Parking:

The Den Theatre does not currently have parking or valet. We strongly urge the usage of the following applications ParkChicago, Spot Hero, Park Whiz, and Parq Ex.

Metered parking is available on Milwaukee Avenue, Ashland Avenue, and surrounding side streets. Pay boxes are enforced from 8:00 am-10:00 pm on Milwaukee Ave and from 8:00 am-6:00 pm on side streets. Pay boxes accept quarters and credit cards and can be fed up to two or three hours, depending on the location.

Street parking can be competitive and difficult to find, particularly on weekends. We kindly suggest you allow for extra time and plan a drink at Haven Lounge before the show!

Safety Protocols

To support all members of our community, About Face Theatre is requiring masking at specifically noted accessible performances. Any performance not noted this way will not require masking. We support any individual’s choice to mask for their own and other’s safety. If you are not feeling well, are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms, or have had or been exposed to COVID-19 in the past 5 days, you should not attend a show. If you are unable to attend a performance due to these reasons, please contact The Den box office to discuss rescheduling.

All patrons understand that there is a risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. Those purchasing tickets and attending About Face Theatre productions and events voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
