We’re Looking for a Marketing Intern!
Are you passionate about the theater? Are you ready to advance the national dialogue on gender and sexual identity? Are you an up-and-coming marketing pro? Do you enjoy working in a face-paced nonprofit environment?
If you answered yes to the questions above then you might be the right person to join About Face Theatre as a marketing intern!
At About Face Theatre (AFT), our vision is to be Chicago’s celebrated center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and ally (LGBTQA) arts and amplify the nation’s leading voices to spark social change. Enabled by broad community support, the organization thrives as an inclusive home where diverse artists, youth, audiences and community partners come together for artistic exchange and cultural dialogue.
Marketing interns help fulfill that vision in a variety of ways, including – but not limited to – the following responsibilities:
- Assisting with the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing plan for upcoming productions, special events, community outreach and educational programming
- Overseeing an editorial calendar that encompasses all content related to the website, e-newsletters and social media channels
- Assisting with the creation and distribution of marketing materials and press releases
- Organizing and maintaining press clippings and marketing material archives
- Assisting with a variety of events geared towards sales, publicity and fundraising
- Other duties as assigned (they’re mostly fun, we promise!)
Internships are available for the spring, summer, or a combination thereof.
Ideal applicants will be proficient in Microsoft Office, skilled at social media, and have an interest in pursuing a career in arts management or marketing. Candidates must also possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be available to work a minimum of 18-20 hours a week.
While this is an unpaid position, we work hard to include our interns on all aspects of our organization and create opportunities for professional development and to further your career goals.
