Meet the Cast of THE PRIDE: Jessie Fisher

About Face Theatre is proud to present the Chicago premiere of THE PRIDE, June 6 – July 13, 2013 at Victory Gardens’ Richard Christiansen Theater.  Set in London, Alexi Kaye Campbell’s time-shifting play THE PRIDE is a sharp, witty portrait of urban gay couples and the punishing consequences of liberation.

In celebration of this play and Pride Month, we’re bringing you the bios of the amazing cast and crew of THE PRIDE over the next couple of weeks. We hope you enjoy getting to know them!

JESSIE FISHER (Sylvia) is thrilled to be working with About Face for the first time. Chicago credits include: 33 Variations with TimeLine, SS! Taming of the Shrew with Chicago Shakespeare,Cloud Nine with the Gift, The Original Grease, Its a Wonderful Life, Speed the Plow at American Theatre Company, Of Mice and Men at Steppenwolf, Frankenstein and Cabaretwith The Hypocrites (Jeff Award), These Shining Lives with Rivendell and My Name is Rachel Corrie with Purple Bench. She has also worked with Lookingglass, Chicago Children’s Theatre, Noble Fool, Profiles and Colorado Shakespeare Festival. Television credit: Boss (Starz). She teaches with Black Box Acting Studio and has trained at the School at Steppenwolf. Jessie is represented by Paonessa Talent Agency.

Meet the Cast of THE PRIDE: Benjamin Sprunger

About Face Theatre is proud to present the Chicago premiere of THE PRIDE, June 6 – July 13, 2013 at Victory Gardens’ Richard Christiansen Theater.  Set in London, Alexi Kaye Campbell’s time-shifting play THE PRIDE is a sharp, witty portrait of urban gay couples and the punishing consequences of liberation.

BENJAMIN SPRUNGER (Man, Doctor, Peter) most recently appeared as a grieving father, a rockabilly rat, and a teddy bear sheriff in House Theatre of Chicago’s Nutcracker. Other Chicago credits include 16th Street, Goodman, Strawdog, TimeLine, LiveWire, Steppenwolf, Griffin, Steep, Pegasus, CityLit, and Bailiwick.  In Los Angeles, Ben worked with Mark Taper Forum, Pasadena Playhouse, and The Blank among others.  Additionally, he is featured on the Do I Hear a Waltz? new cast recording (alongside Carol Lawrence and Tony Award winner Anthony Crivello) and has appeared on the television shows Will & Grace, Passions and It’s All Relative.  The Pride is Ben’s seventh production with About Face where he is also an artistic associate and board member.  More information at www.benjaminsprunger.com.

PATRICK ANDREWS  (Oliver) As an Artistic Associate of About Face Theatre credits include THE HOMOSEXUALS, STUPID KIDS, and choreographing WE 3 LIZA’S and QUEERTOPIA.  Goodman Theatre credits include THE ICEMAN COMETH, RED (co-production with Arena Stage, DC) and THE ACTOR.  Steppenwolf credits include AMERICAN BUFFALO (co-production with The McCarter Theatre, Princeton) and THE BOOK THIEF.  Patrick performed in Writer’s Theatre’s DO THE HUSTLE and was last seen in the revival of METAMORPHOSES at Lookingglass Theatre.  As an ensemble member of American Theatre Company credits include ESCAPE, THE PEOPLE’S TEMPLE, and SPEECH AND DEBATE.   Other credits include THE SPARROW with The House Theatre, DORIAN with The Bailiwick Theatre, choreographing CHERRYWOOD for Mary Arrchie Theatre and GO, DOG. GO! for Chicago Children’s Theatre.  Selected musical credits include CABARET at Drury Lane Theatre, SAVED at Kansas City Repertory, THE SNOW QUEEN at Victory Gardens Theatre, WEST SIDE STORY at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia and the National Tour of FOSSE. On television he’s appeared on THE CHICAGO CODE and CHICAGO FIRE.  Patrick is a member of the multi-city artist collective Goldmine and the queer-electro-f**k band BAATHHAUS. www.baathhaus.com

JOHN FRANCISCO (Phillip) is an Artistic Associate at About Face, having previously performed in We Three Lizas and The Homosexuals.  He also produced the latest incarnation of XYZReadings with fellow associate Jacob Patron.  He’s worked with Victory Gardens, ShawChicago, Porchlight Music Theatre, Peninsula Players, Piven Theatre Workshop, Strawdog Theatre, House Theatre, Noble Fool and Pegasus Players. John is a graduate of the School at Steppenwolf and the University of Georgia. John works with Chicago Children’s Theatre, collaborating with Artistic Director Jacqui Russell in creating theatre pieces for children with autism and with Old Town School of Folk Music, teaching music to infants, toddlers, and kids with behavioral problems.  Also he writes about monsters – www.themonsterweekly.com
