KINSHIP

KINSHIP: An All Ages Queer Variety Show is an artistic platform for young queer performers (prioritizing those of color) in Chicago to showcase new and original work. Its mission is to create a safe space and build community among queer youth. KINSHIP is a home to uplift, empower, and celebrate queer art. It is a queer prioritized space, it is a youth prioritized space, it is a queer youth of color prioritized space.

KINSHIP launched in December 2018 with performances at The Martin and have now also been performed at Reunion, Chicago. There are have been 7 KINSHIPs so far and we have served nearly 50 queer performers ages 14-24 and have reached over 300 audience members.

Every show has a new lineup of singers, dancers, poets, drag artists, and more. Some months have a theme, some don’t! All shows are hosted by the sickening Youth Task Force. We have a suggested donation of $5 at the door with proceeds going directly back to the performers.

Join us next time for an evening of singing, drag, dancing, spoken word, and more all by QUEER POC!
