About Wonka Ball 2010
The celebration heads south this year, borrowing inspiration from southern cotillions, as our famed annual event comes on the heels of the closing of SWEET TEA, an oral history of black, gay southern life. Traditionally, the debutante ball is instituted as a rite of passage for young ladies of the south— in turn, this year About Face supporters unite to experience a ritualistic coming out of their very own. Featuring southern-themed buffets from Chicago’s finest caterers, an elegant silent auction, music, dancing and the ceremonial presentation of the Leppen Leadership Awards to a company and an individual who have made a positive impact in the lives of LGBTQ youth, and with some of our favorite friends in attendance, we expect this Wonka Ball to be the most stylish and magnificent party yet.
Ticket Prices
VIP Reception
$250 each for individual dinner tickets, and recognition as a Wonka Ball VIP (both online and in print). Enjoy cocktails, a delicious spread by professional caterers, and the presentation of the Leppen Leadership Award. All VIPs are encouraged to stay for the Wonka Ball Party after the VIP reception.
Wonka Ball Party
$150 each for individual Wonka Ball party tickets featuring open bar and delicious hors d’oeuvres, fabulous entertainment, silent auction, and dancing.
